I looked at so many bottles and could not decide on one. I thought hydroflask was hyped for no reason so I avoided it for a long time. The reason I chose hydroflask is because I have tried cheap companies before and they all leave a metallic taste in the mouth so I wanted to go with a trusted brand. But the main reason is because the handle is comfy. If you want to hold a bottle around on a hot summer day, you want it to be comfortable and hydroflask’s handle is just that! I brought this with off-roading on a UTV in AZ and it stayed cold. Almost got heat stroke twice on a hot track day and my water stayed colds me saved me. Went to the pool. The bottle got soooo hot on the outside but water was cold! I love this bottle and I have zero complaints.If you live in a place like AZ, this works to keep your water cold on days where you desperately need it!According to the description there wouldn't be a metallic taste, but I have noticed a metallic taste. This usually occurs when my water (no ice) has been in the bottle for hours on end. However, the appearance of the bottle is nice & you can tell it's well made.As far as the staying cold test here's what I have to say:-If I didn't use ice, my drink would only stay fridge cold for about 5 or 6 hours max.-I haven't tried hot drinks.-The Hydroflask bottle seems to keep ice not melted for an extended period. I could easy say ice will not melt in a 24 hr. period.Overall, I think there are other brands out there that can perform just as well as Hydroflask for the same price or cheaper (Yeti?).Decent product, expensive but it does keep your beverages hot or cold depending what your pleasure is. It comes with a cap but you have to remove the cap everything you want to drink… to get more money out of you they sell a separate cap with straws which I did and it’s worth not removing the cap every time I want a drink …, and of course you have to have the right cup holder to accommodate for the oversized bottle , so there is another expense so you can insert it in your regular vehicle cup holder. So after you spent 70 + dollars you really do have a very decent product. Other than cost I really like itAfter many months of convincing, my sister finally got me to purchase a hydroflask. It’s literally the best water bottle brand out there! It stays cold for so long. Ice takes like 24+ hours to melt. My only criticism is that if you drop it really hard, you can dent it. Wide grip because of its size. They straw cap I got for it sometimes leaks out of the little air hole. Make sure you have it leveled when you close it. It can leak and I usually drive an hour to 2 to work, so you don't want to be running out on a hot drive. Other than that, it does its job.Left this in my car during the summer in Texas..the next day the water was still cold! I don't think you can go wrong..my son now uses for football practice to ensure his water stays cold on the side line.I am a big fan of hydro. Like any other hydro, this bottle keeps my drinks cold for 12 some hours; haven't tried hot water yet. When you buy it, expect a somewhat big bottle about 9 in by 6in (don't quote me). I love the bottle mouth its wide enough to shove ice cube inside but drinking liquid with ice won't be so pleasant.
