Despite its odd shape, the side boxes come off with an upward push while lifting off the base. After a few removals the boxes come off easier. I put all of my seed bead colors in one, have two for my faceted beads, one for my round shaped beads. I use the center compartmentalized tray for a few beads that I am working with. Took one center tray out and use the empty deep center for tools, thread rolls, measure tape, and end springs. I also put my finished product in the deep center , so it will avoid damage. I LOVE this container, wish I had two more for a total of six. They are getting harder to find. Buy now.
