I bought two over-the-door adjustable hooks for my trip; this one, and the Spectrum Diversified hook.http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B002P9020C?redirect=true&ref_=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_12The reason that I wanted these for travel was the variable thickness doors typically found in hotels (most seem to be similar thickness to dorm doors). I wanted the extra hooks for drying washed clothes and other various uses.This hook is poorly designed for travel, and may only be marginally useful as a permanent hook. It had limited ability to adjust it (only 4 settings) and was very loose fitting on the door. It also comes as two pieces, the piece that fits over the door slides into 4 slots on the body of the hook at the top of it. This doesn't lock into place, which was a big problem. I had lost the small part of the hook after removing it from the package, and spent 15-20 minutes looking for it before the trip even began. It would also slide apart quite often while over the door, and was a constant hassle to use.The Spectrum hook is all one piece, and has more adjustments, which allowed it to fit snugly on any door during my travels. I'd recommend the Spectrum hook over this one for traveling.My wife really loves this "hanger". She uses it to hang her bras. They no longer clutter up dresser drawer and freed it up for other stuff. It's also great for drying her "delicates and unmentionables". I need to get more for my ties and belts. The whole thing is very light yet made completely from plastic, yet very sturdy. It is easy to turn. This is a must for every closet.Note: this is a pretty thick product, so if you use it on a door, you would not be able to close that door at all. Its good quality and looks good, but its better suits for partitions or something that will remain openNot bad. It was inexpensive and will hold guest bathroom towels.The adjustable feature on this hook rendered it unuseable. Once I took the tape off, as the package directed, the thing came into two parts, could not be reassembled, and could not be used without reassembly. The transaction was smooth, and I appreciate the immediate refund with the notation that I do not need to physically return the item. But beware---I love these hooks in the non adjusgable variety; I wish they made them longer, so the hook part comes farther down the door, but they are very useful and unobtrusive for closets or bedroom doors. Just avoid the adjustable one!It's exactly what I was looking for, but a bit expensive than what I would have paid for. The rotation is great and space between the hooks is good for belts with smaller buckles.We have a TON of belts and this really helped us consolidate space and make our day to day lives WAY easier. Thinking about getting a second one!We bought this hook for over the door travel backpack storage for easy packing for day outings. It worked great for two days then broke.I like the design of this hook but I can't close the door with it on, so it gets a sad 1 out of 5. The part at the top of the door measures a full 1/2 cm. I don't know what the standard gap is, but it doesn't work on any of the doors in my brand new condo. So if you have an ill fitting door or one that you never plan on closing, this hook will do just fine. It sits quite high and will require some reaching for the shorter users.
